Alabama CB Geno Smith Arrested on DUI
- Updated: August 18, 2013
Alabama Crimson Tide defensive back Geno Smith was arrested overnight on a DUI charge. His bond was set at $1,000.
Details of the arrest have not yet been released by the Tuscaloosa County sheriff’s office.
Smith was a 5-star rated cornerback when he was recruited out of an Atlanta High School. Last season as a freshman he played in all 13 games and recorded nine tackles and broke up a couple passes.
The Crimson Tide arrest follows on the heels of Auburn defensive back Demetruce McNeal, who was arrested on a marijuana possession charged.
It will be interesting to see of Alabama head coach Nick Saban acts as quickly and decisively as Auburn head coach Gus Malzahn and boots Smith off the team.
