Andre Johnson Questioning Houston Texans
- Updated: May 14, 2014
Houston Texans wide receiver Andre Johnson is questioning whether or not he wants to play anymore with the team that he has spent his entire 11-year NFL career.
Johnson has only been to the playoffs twice and with the Texans in rebuild mode, can you really blame him for wanting to move on? The man should be playing for a contender and chasing a ring.
“Nobody’s been here as long as I have,” Johnson told the Houston Chronicle. “You just kind of look at things. I’ve been thinking about things this off-season. And I just kind of wonder sometimes, ‘Is this still the place for me?'”
Obviously Johnson can still play, he caught 109 balls in 2013 and 112 in 2012. If the Texans cut him, he will have another job before the knife hits the floor.
Johnson also said, “When you bring a new coach in, you go through a rebuilding process. Some people say it’s not. Some people say it’s a quick fix. Everybody has their own opinion. But I’ve been through the situation more than once.”
The Texans have Johnson locked up through the 2016 season, but it will be interesting to see if he forces them to trade him.
