Braves Down Phillies Make it Eight Straight

The Atlanta Braves made it eight straight with a 6-4 win over the Philadelphia Phillies Friday night. Brian McCann and NL leading hitter, Chris Johnson, smashed home runs to power the offense.
“Everything’s a run,” Fredi Gonzalez said after the game. “You get a good run of hitting or you get a good run of pitching – seems like our good run of pitching has been really consistent the whole year. But you see some guys with some good approaches, good at-bats, keep the lineup moving.”
Kris Medlen gave up four runs in six innings pitched, including three home runs. But he walked only one, while striking out eight, in earning his eight wins on the season against ten losses.
Johnson extended his hitting streak to eleven games as he registered his seventh home run. He also laced a double later in the game that made it eight straight games that he has had a multi-hit game. That ties Hank Aaron for the franchise record.
The loss was the Phillies third in a row as they continue their post All-Star game downward spiral.
