Chiefs and 49ers Swap Wide Receivers

The San Francisco 49ers have dealt former first round pick, wide receiver A.J. Jenkins to the Kansas City Chiefs for their former first round wide receiver, Jon Baldwin.

Obviously, both teams are hoping that a change of scenery is what both players need to revive their careers.

Jenkins, who was the 30th overall pick in last year’s draft out of Illinois, only played in three games and didn’t make a catch. He was healthy all season so there isn’t even an injury excuse to explain his minimal production.

Baldwin, was picked 26th in 2011 out of Pittsburgh.  In two seasons and 26 games with the Chiefs, Baldwin had 41 catches for 579 yards and two touchdowns.

This is the second team this season that the teams have collaborated on a trade.  The 49ers sent quarterback Alex Smith to the Chiefs for a couple of draft choices.
