D’Antoni Fired Gasol Returns?

Paul Gasol will be a free agent after this season and despite his bumpy road with the Lakers, he may return next year. Gasol won’t get the $19.3 million he made this season, but he will still command a hefty paycheck.

“It’s a great position to be in,” Gasol said. “It’s rare. The first time I will ever be in that position.”

Gasol doesn’t fit well with coach Mike D’Antoni’s offense, but when you look at the Laker’s record, who does fit with his offense?  If D’Antoni is canned after this season, the chances of Gasol returning to the Lakers increases significantly.

But will it happen?

Gasol has been saying that there is a chance he will return if things fall into place.  He’s 33 years old, so this will be his last contract.  It will most likely come down to whether or not Gasol thinks the Lakers can win or if he has a better chance to get a ring elsewhere.

The Lakers used to be a perennial contender, but not anymore.  Smart money says Gasol is somewhere other than LA next season.

I hate to agree, but Pau is correct in thinking if the current so-called coach is with the Lakers, he should look elsewhere. That being said, If the Lakers continue with this “coach” then Jennie Buss is basically saying: The hell with what my father built, I must make my “looser” brother feel good about himself.” If that is what she feels and/or thinks, then the Lakers are of the PAST!!!!!
