Dyron Dye Blown Away By Hurricanes
- Updated: August 19, 2013
Miami Hurricanes senior tight Dyron Dye has been booted off the Miami team, according to the South Florida Sun-Sentinel. Dye’s attorney said that Miami’s legal counsel communicated the news to him on Monday afternoon.
Dye had a tumultuous career with the Hurricanes, including being suspended during the Nevin Shapiro investigation that percolated during 2011. He was known as the last connection to the investigation that was still playing at Miami.
The specific reason Dye was released by the Hurricanes has not been clearly defined publicly, but it appears that related to the NCAA investigation and information that was obtained during interviews with Dye.
Miami head coach Al Golden had no comment on the Dye dismissal.
The Hurricanes are picked by many media outlets to win the Atlantic Coast Conference Coastal division and play in the ACC championship game this season.
Dye hauled in 4 passes totaling 48 yards during the 2012 season.
