Joe Montana Says Manziel Should Be Careful

Former San Francisco 49ers great Joe Montana thinks that Cleveland Browns QB Johnny Manziel should be careful. That is what he told KNBR’s Brian Murphy and Paul McCaffrey.
Montana had other cautionary words for Manziel.
“As they say, those guys you’ve been playing against, the best of those guys are all on one team now. They’re bigger, they’re faster, and they can’t wait for you to get outside the pocket because you’re not protected,” Montana said.
Joe should know about that, he wasn’t a large physical specimen, either. But he knew how to move around in the pocket and most importantly, he knew how to get down.
Montana also didn’t have the huge ego that Manziel has and that can get you killed in the NFL, where linebackers fly around like missiles and defensive ends run 4.6 or less in the 40-yard dash.
Manziel’s ability to make plays does impress Montana, “It’s hard to discount him, because it’s not like he just made a few plays, he was making plays all the time.”
