Johnny Manziel Making Big Browns Impact
- Updated: May 12, 2014
No one can accuse Cleveland Browns’ first round pick Johnny Manziel of not taking his new team seriously. Manziel cancelled two appearances he was scheduled to make so he could take care of business obligations with the Browns.
Manziel was scheduled to play in two pro-am events at the HP Byron Nelson championship in Fort Worth, Texas. If the Cowboys had drafted him, I’m guessing he most likely would have played.
Manziel has been a busy man since he was drafted by the Browns. He filmed a McDonald’s commercial with Lebron James which quite frankly I don’t understand. Why would Manziel want to be in a commercial with a guy who stiffed Cleveland a few years ago?
Not a good message to send.
Manziel also signed a lucrative deal with Nike. If Manziel is going to hitch his wagon to an NBA star, wouldn’t it be a better idea that a TV commercial would be with Nike’s Michael Jordan, rather than Lebron?
Where Manziel is doing great things is at the Browns box office. Season tickets are reportedly already up 1,500 over last season.
