Louisville Football Star Hit and Run Victim

Louisville Cardinals defensive end Lorenzo Mauldin was riding his moped through campus, when he was hit by another vehicle, Tuesday morning. Mauldin is expected to be held overnight for observation.
It is being reported by the school that the sedan that hit Mauldin left the scene. Police are investigating the incident.
A statement was released by Louisville said that Mauldin is in good condition and that a precautionary evaluation is being done at Jewish Hospital.
Mauldin is a 6’4, 245 pounder who was expected to start this coming Saturday against Ohio in the season opener for both teams. Last season as a sophomore, Mauldin was credited with 22 tackles, 4.5 sacks and 6.5 tackles for losses. He was the Big East Player of the Week for his efforts against USF.
Mauldin, who played his high school ball at Maynard Jackson High School in Atlanta, signed with the Cardinals in March of 2011.
