Nebraska Loses Defensive Tackle
- Updated: August 18, 2013
Nebraska Cornhuskers defensive tackle Kevin Williams has another appointment with the knife. For the second time in his career, Williams will undergo knee surgery.
“This is the second time he has had a knee injury. I just feel for the kid.” Nebraska head coach Bo Pelini said. “He’ll come back, it was a pretty clean injury. We think he will be able to rehab, and he will be just fine going forward.”
The redshirt sophomore, who inured the knee earlier in the summer camp, will miss the entire 2013 season rehabbing the injury.
Williams played five games during the 2012 season. He was expected to compete for expanded playing time this season, perhaps even a starting job.
The first knee injury Williams sustained cost him the entire 2011 season.
