Phillies Fans Prepare for Impact
- Updated: April 10, 2014
The Philadelphia Phillies have stunk it up the first eight games of the season, but is that really a surprise? The Phillies have been on a downward trajectory the past couple years and it appears the ship will not be landing, it is headed for impact.
Do you enjoy sloppy baseball?
The Phillies have given up 10 unearned run this season, including three against the Brewers on Wednesday night in a 9-4 loss. Those 10 unearned runs have been fueled by 9 errors, that is how you start the season 3-5.
“That’s possibly early season stuff that we’re still in the process of ironing out,” Phillies manager, Ryne Sandberg said. “We definitely need to tighten that up. We work at it. We talk about it. Some of the plays are routine and we need to make the routine plays.”
Uh Ryne…it isn’t just early season stuff. You stink.
Aging shortstop Jimmy Rollins got the error parade going Wednesday night with a first-inning flub that led to a Brewers run and gimpy-kneed first baseman, Ryan Howard, kicked a grounder in the eighth that led to two more unearned Milwaukee runs. That resulted in a 4-4 tie becoming a 7-4 Milwaukee lead that gave the Brewers a red carpet victory.
Gonna be a long season in Philly…
