The Georgia Bulldogs had a scrimmage Wednesday night that was a dress rehearsal for the Clemson game. The scrimmage kicked off at 8 p.m., the captains came out for the coin toss before the session, and the team played two full quarters.
“It was a barn burner,” Georgia coach Mark Richt said. “We got done what we wanted. We had a lot of live kicking situations, and overall I thought everyone did a pretty good job including our graduate assistants preparing the scout team.”
Coach Richt was impressed with his freshman cornerbacks on Wednesday night. Brendan Langley and Shaq Wiggins each made an interception and Wiggins took his to the house.
“Those guys are getting reps and making plays,” Richt said when asked about the freshmen defensive backs. “They have good ball skills and good hands.”
Coach Richt also named his captains for the season opener at Clemson. They will be four seniors in quarterback Aaron Murray, tight end Arthur Lynch, free safety Connor Norman and defensive end Garrison Smith.
